Paralegal

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Paralegal to support our legal team with key administrative and legal functions. As a vital member of the team, you will assist in preparing legal documents, conducting research, and managing case files to ensure our attorneys can focus on strategic legal representation. This fully remote position requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Document Preparation:

  • Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, and discovery materials.

  • Ensure compliance with formatting, accuracy, and procedural requirements.

Legal Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations.

  • Summarize research findings and provide reports to attorneys for case preparation.

Case Management:

  • Organize, maintain, and update case files and documentation.

  • Track deadlines, monitor calendars, and ensure timely filing of documents.

Client and Witness Support:

  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and external parties to gather information or provide updates.

  • Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for hearings or depositions.

Filing and Compliance:

  • File legal documents with courts and agencies in accordance with deadlines and jurisdictional rules.

  • Stay informed of changes in legal procedures and court filing requirements.

Administrative Support:

  • Manage billing records, expense reports, and invoices.

  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline workflow and processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar role, preferably in a remote setting.

  • Knowledge of [specific legal practice area, e.g., corporate law, family law, intellectual property, etc.].

  • Familiarity with case management systems and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
